摘要: Just as pediatricians and endocrinologists are interested in understanding statural growth patterns the prediction of adult height, pediatric dentists, orthodontists, oral/maxillofacial surgeons need to be knowledgeable about a patient’s facial effectively treat them. Some variations have been clinically associated with poor esthetic self-image, malocclusion formation development physical and/or functional deformity. To understand how different genetic factors influence patterns, scientists clinicians study developmental sequences, malformations syndromes. While this general information can valuable when making treatment decisions for an individual their family, greatest contribution genetics clinical practice may form personalized or “precision” medicine population. Precision takes into account knowing portion all specific DNA code estimate makeup will patterns. Ultimately, identification key at level patient improve predictions that indicative well they respond forms treatment.
