摘要: Bone is a dynamic organ of the endoskeleton, playing an important role in structural integrity, mineral reservoirs, blood production, coagulation, and immunity. Metabolic bone disease encompasses broad spectrum inherited acquired disorders that disrupt normal homeostasis formation resorption. For patients affected by these processes, radiologic imaging plays central diagnosis, monitoring treatment, risk stratification. Radiologists should be familiar with diseases, intimately aware findings, possessive multimodality expertise to wisely guide best practice medicine. The purpose this paper review features characteristics most common types metabolic highlights clinically relevant information so readers can better generate appropriate differential diagnoses recommendations. review, thorough literature search for up-to-date was performed on several key disease: osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, scurvy, renal osteodystrophy, hyperparathyroidism, Paget’s disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, acromegaly, osteopetrosis. Although they all affect bone, diseases have both shared characteristic discerned through imaging.
