摘要: Data for 1997–2005 on the Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) diet during breeding period (food remains from nest-boxes after breeding) were compared with long-term (spring and autumn 1997–2004) data small mammal monitoring short-term trapping obtained close to owl (autumn 1999 2000). The investigated sites located in Kėdainiai district (central Lithuania). A total of 18 species identified (91.3% 2,042 remains). In general, diversity was much higher (9 15 recovered annually) than trapping. Owls mainly preyed bank voles (31.0% all mammals), short-tailed (15.8%, Microtus – 29.5%) yellow-necked mice (14.6%).
