摘要: Thiazolidinediones constitute a family of antidiabetic drugs, and rosiglitasone (RSG) has an extensive usage in treating the complications type 2 diabetes mellitus. Carvacrol (CVL), monoterpenic phenol that occurs many essential oils Labiatae including Origanum, Satureja, Thymbra, Thymus, Corydothymus species, possess wide variety pharmacological properties antioxidant potential. We hypothesized carvacrol combination with RSG would prove beneficial to ameliorate dysregulated carbohydrate metabolism high-fat diet (HFD)-induced diabetic C57BL/6J mice. Mice were divided into six groups fed HFD, for 10 weeks. CVL (20 mg/kg BW) (4 administered post-orally, daily 35 days. HFD mice showed elevation plasma glucose, insulin, glycosylated hemoglobin decrease hemoglobin. The activities metabolic enzymes such as glucose-6-phosphatase fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase increased whereas glucokinase glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase decreased liver hepatic marker aspartate aminotransferase, alanine alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase Combination prevented above changes toward normalcy. Histopathological analysis H&E stained pancreas was also agreement biochemical findings. These major findings provide evidence better properties.
