摘要: Abstract Although many different media have been devised for the isolation of Lancefield group D streptococci, thallous acetate-tetrazolium-glucose medium Barnes (1956, J. Appl. Bacteriol. 19, 204–211) is one few permitting a reliable distinction between Streptococcus faecalis and S. faecium biotypes that sometimes value in determining source contamination water food samples. However, performance this depends partly on using recommended method preparation subsequent incubation temperature. The specificity can be increased by incubating plates at 37°C 4 h, followed 45°C 24–48 h.
