When Power Functions Fail: A Theoretical Explanation

摘要: When the simple power function fails to describe psychophysical results, it is necessary add or subtract a constant from either stimuli responses in order reinstitute function. It suggested here that this failure results nonlinearity of between Weber fraction and stimulus intensity. Computer simulation experiments were conducted which supported contention.
