Role of thymol in inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction of isolated rat’s ileum

摘要: Introduction: Thymol has negative ionotropic effect on heart and direct calcium release from sarcoplasmic reticulum. Some of the herbal plants just like carum copticum consist thymol. The postganglionic neurons gastrointestinal parasympathetic system are located mainly in myenteric submucosal plexuses. Stimulation these nerves causes general increase activity entire enteric nervous system. This turn enhances most functions. Therefore present study been designed to find out anti spasmodic effects thymol rat’s ileum smooth muscle. Methods: In this contraction was recorded through an isolated tissue chamber organ bath by using isotonic transducer oscillographic device each experiment effective concentration Carum Copticum thyme essential oil (0.002, 0.005 0.01) acetylcholine induced evaluated compared with (10 -3 , 10 -4 -5 ) effects. Results: Our result show that presence & M cause muscle while its inhibited which is significant as control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: showed due high some medicinal plant; may be
