摘要: • Lumbar cerebrospinal fluid homovanillic acid (HVA), 5-hydroxyindoleacetic (5-HIAA), and probenecid were measured in four subgroups of neuropsychiatrically disturbed children a contrast group pediatric patients. With the exception serotonin metabolite difference between autistic nonautistic psychotic children, there no significant differences concentrations among autistic, psychotic, aphasic, cognitively attentionally impaired groups, or developmentally disabled groups children. Younger had higher HVA than older Girls significantly lower HVA/probenecid ratios boys, which did not appear to be related underlying neuropsychiatric disorder. Significant probenecid-metabolite correlations indicate importance measuring clinical studies.
