摘要: A survey was conducted to study the impact of women9s previous experiences breast cancer screening on their subsequent readiness reattend. Women aged 45-64 years from three general practices were invited attend for a second test at mobile clinic. Of 1582 women who invited, 1408 (89.0%) reattended. questionnaire about experience completed by 641 attended and 124 did not test. Twenty six per cent had found painful, minority also reported embarrassment (7%) or distress (6%). reattend significantly more likely than those report as embarrassing distressing less have clinic staff helpful attendance worthwhile reassuring. No significant difference in reattendance rate experienced false positive result compared with remaining women. These results show that there may be substantial scope reducing non-attendance improving way service is provided, thereby enhancing overall screening.
