摘要: The Australian government is introducing a Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme in 2010, as part of its climate change policy. After 2015 agriculture may be covered by this scheme. This paper examines how different broadacre farming systems affected the policy settings Using bio-economic model MIDAS (Model an Integrated Dryland Agricultural System) impacts on profitability southwest Australia are investigated. Results show range profit and enterprise across various farm types. In scenario where not scheme, reductions from 7 to 12 percent, attributable more expensive ‘covered’ inputs such fuel fertiliser; farmers reduce their use energy chemicals fertilisers. profits decline 15 25 percent ‘business-as-usual’ optimal plans involve combination reduced livestock numbers, introduction permanent woody perennial plantations marginal lands other changes mix emissions.
