摘要: BACKGROUND One hundred ninety-three patients with sporadic unilateral vestibular schwannoma given conservative management were enrolled in a prospective study. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of and to determine effect an initial on quality life (QOL) severity audio symptoms. METHODS The underwent magnetic resonance imaging scans, clinical examination, QOL assessment by 2 validated questionnaires, Short Form-36 (SF-36) Glasgow Benefit Inventory (GBI). Using regression analysis clustered data, we analyzed possible associations between tumor growth symptoms tested whether our earlier finding that vertigo is associated reduced could be verified. RESULTS median follow-up time was 43 months (range, 9-115 months; SD, 21.48 months). Results are based 703 controls 642 638 (GBI) questionnaires. Seven lost follow-up. Approximately 40% need treatment during We found statistically significant association tinnitus growth. Vertigo significantly reduce QOL. There drop Social Function subscales both SF-36 GBI, possibly attributable progressive hearing loss. Otherwise, there no overall trend toward any change observation period. In addition, seemed little affected treatment. CONCLUSION small but improvement complaints occurrence tinnitus. Except for loss caused surgery, did not affect or significantly. Growth balance problems.
