摘要: Aim We searched for evidence of floristic homogenization in widespread oceanic archipelagos. Location Twelve archipelagos the Atlantic and Pacific oceans: Ascension, Azores, Canary, Cape Verde, Desventuradas, Easter, Galapagos, Hawaii, Juan Fernandez, Madeira, Puerto Rico Savage. Methods By using Jaccard’s index, we established similarity between pairs at two stages: original (pre-European; Jo) current flora (Jc). Then, calculated ΔJ = Jc–Jo, where positive differences imply that has increased homogenization. Results found fourfold on average, from 1.6% to 6.3% floras, respectively. In fact, recorded 64 cases which only it decreased. The importance invasions exceeds extirpations as a driver biotic change by more than an order magnitude (2679 versus 142 species, respectively). Main conclusions vascular floras these 12 insular systems have compositional similarity, phenomenon consistent with trend towards homogenization. It can be characterized teleconnected process operates across vast geographical distances, driven unprecedented capacity humans translocation. Trends differ depending location (i.e. Pacific island birds reported previous study), emphasizing complexity change.
