摘要: Currently available data demonstrate the need for balance prostheses. Recent technological and biomedical advances now make it feasible to produce miniaturized sensors, signal processors, electric stimulators, stimulating electrodes that are roughly analogous a cochlear implant but which provide information about self motion, instead of sound. Many areas require work before prostheses become reality. Some these include: development motion sensor array, conversion sensed into physiologically meaningful information, delivery transformed CNS, training vestibular deficient individuals use prosthesis, developing methods evaluate efficacy device. In this "white paper," we consider issues in context prototype baseline prosthetic devices.
