摘要: Abstract The location of Co and Ni promoter atoms in industrial-style hydrotreating catalysts is examined by combining aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy energy loss spectrum imaging. observations unambiguously demonstrate that both occupy sites at all low-indexed edge terminations hexagonally shaped multi-layer MoS 2 nanocrystals. In contrast, similar for single-layer nanocrystals show Co-promoter preferentially attach the (−1 0 0) S-edge termination are absent (1 0 0) Mo-edge termination. apparent discrepancy between single- can be explained 2H-MoS crystal structure, which successive layers alternatingly expose Mo- any directions. Thus, Co–Mo–S Ni–Mo–S nanocrystals, formed present type catalyst, consistently described as a superposition structures, turn, provide promoted with different steric accessibility organic compounds mineral oil distillates.
