摘要: The physical attractiveness of a criminal defendant (attractive, unattractive, no information) and the nature crime (attractiveness-related, attractiveness-unrelated) were varied in factorial design. After reading one case accounts, subjects sentenced to term imprisonment. An interaction was predicted: When unrelated (burglary), would assign more lenient sentences attractive than unattractive defendant; when offense attractiveness-related (swindle), receive harsher treatment. results confirmed predictions, thereby supporting cognitive explanation for relationship between defendants judgments made against them.
