摘要: Intraspinal injections of small volumes lysolecithin were made in the cat. These produced a local area primary demyelination at site injection and all demyelinated axons subsequently remyelinated either by oligodendrocytes or Schwann cells. In general type remyelination depended on position axon relative to point injection; those near centre lesion cells while edges oligodendrocytes. At very there was fairly extensive axonal degeneration. Oligodendrocyte-remyelinated enclosed within astrocyte processes which usually covered basement membrane surface next The pattern cat compared with similar lesions rat it concluded that more vigorous astrocytic response responsible for differences observed 2 species.
