摘要: Sediments in Lake Illawarra have been investigated by deep and shallow coring to provide a comprehensive appraisal of the sediment-bound natural (background) more recent (i.e., industrial era) trace metal concentrations. The distribution Cu, Pb Zn upper 20 cm sediment is directly related proportion mud-dominated forming central floor lake. Trace enrichment factors for were generally less than 2.5 with exception southern portion Griffins Bay where greater 1.8, 3.5 5.8 respectively. According ANZECC ARMCANZ (2000) protocols, sediments can be classified as low risk, although present part exceed high guideline value (ISQG-high) 420 ppm values (ISQG-low) 65 50 Cu These warrant further investigation form `bioavailability’ biotoxicity testing. Future work could directed towards an assessment acid generation potential these due pyrite oxidation facilitated dredging exposure atmosphere.
