Discontinuation of anti-epileptic therapy: a retrospective study of 86 children and adolescents.

摘要: In order to identify any predictive factors of relapse after the discontinuation anticonvulsive therapy, a catamnestic study was made 86 epileptic children and adolescents who had started or completed withdrawal AEDs. Their clinical records were examined retrospectively, univariate analysis showed that which correlated significantly with higher rate age at time reducing treatment, presence more than 30 generalised partial tonic-clonic seizures, febrile duration active phase disease, coexistence one type seizure. At multivariate analysis, only seizures significant. Given small size diagnostic subgroups, no significant correlation could be demonstrated between epileptological diagnosis risk recurrence.
