摘要: RFID has been touted by it proponents as an exciting technology application that will transform supply chains into more effective systems, reducing costs and enhancing chain capabilities. Skeptics view little more than upgraded bar codes are unreliable costly, lack common industry standards, raise serious issues regarding consumer privacy. Given the views of these two camps, to what extent is actually being embraced adopted? Guided a review RFID-specific literature, field studies with firms at different stages implementation and structured interviews senior-level practitioners were used develop survey instrument. This study compares actual efforts four followed investigation current planned uses of RFID, reasons motivate adoption RFID. research provides useful insights lead better decisions about adoption.
