摘要: Accurate folding, assembly, localization, and maturation of newly synthesized proteins are essential to all cells require high fidelity in the protein biogenesis machineries that mediate these processes. Here, we review our current understanding how is achieved one processes, cotranslational targeting nascent membrane secretory by signal recognition particle (SRP). Recent biochemical, biophysical, structural studies have elucidated correct substrates drive a series elaborate conformational rearrangements SRP receptor GTPases; provide effective checkpoints reject incorrect enhance this cellular pathway. The mechanisms used ensure share important conceptual analogies with those involved DNA replication, transcription, translation, likely represent general principles for other complex pathways.
