Addressing the Challenges of Survey Fatigue for Lifelong User Modelling: Initialising Baseline Models Using Community Psychometric Values

摘要: Addressing the issue of survey fatigue is vital importance for systems that support lifelong learning. This because increasingly complex methods measurement needed to initialise cognitive user models. paper describes a baseline modelling approach whereby models can be initialised with psychometric measurements form target community. A critical analysis current challenges and solutions overcoming cold-start condition are outlined. The approaches initialising model in Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) also described. Evaluation this applied metacognition indicates method suitably describe learner community result positive learning outcomes.
