摘要: Sediment samples collected in the Moradabad area, lying interfluve of Ganga and Ramganga Rivers, were analysed for heavy metals, after studying geomorphology area. Geomorphologically, area can be divided into three terraces – T0, T1 T2 surfaces. The rivers on these surfaces show varying amounts pollution depending upon input from industries urban settlements. River T0 surface shows highest amount pollution. However, levels all a downstream dilution effect. characteristic feature vast (T2 surface) is presence several, independent basins which are closed rarely interact with each other or any river. sediments redistributed redeposited within basin itself, thus serve as sinks. one such study significant concentrations arsenic, chromium, copper, nickel, lead, zinc organic carbon. metals will exponential increases time, because there no activity to funnel out dilute effect This increase pose more threats, ultimately it make its way laterally vertically through sediments, thereby polluting groundwater.
