In vitro cytotoxicity of Rhodnius prolixus hemolytic factor and mellitin towards different trypanosomatids.

摘要: Trypanosoma cruzi strain Y and clone Dm28c other trypanosomatids were exposed to two lytic agents, Rhodnius prolixus hemolytic factor (RHF) mellitin, in vitro. In both cases, the result was a significant decrease number of parasites after 30-min treatment at 37 degrees C. RHF mellitin had distinct activities on different strains species trypanosomatids. These observations suggest that may be an important selecting resistant trypanosomes for development vector's gut.
