摘要: The possibility of quantifying the superimposed signal glutamate and glutamine (Glx) its components by 1 H magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in spinal cord is an exciting challenge with important clinical applications neurological conditions. a particularly difficult region interest due to small volume, field inhomogeneities physiological motion. In this study, we investigated for first time feasibility obtaining quantitative measurements Glx healthy cervical MRS at 3 T. The aim study was compare two commercially available sequences spectral simulations vivo. A short echo (TE) point resolved (PRESS) TE = 30 ms stimulated acquisition mode (STEAM) TE = 11 ms mixing (TM) = 17 ms were compared reliability fit. Data allowed us determine sample size estimates future studies time. Results showed that PRESS provided reliable fit all cases (Cramer Rao lower bounds   20% using sequence. This proposed clinically feasible method detection human vivo including sizes needed conclusive studies. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
