摘要: This paper reports results from a field study of cross-disciplinary design researchers in information systems, software engineering, human-computer interaction, and computer-supported cooperative work. The purpose the was to explore how these different disciplines conceptualize conduct design-as-research. focus this is on theories are used research project motivate inform particulars designed artifacts methods. Our objective better understand elements theory translated into action, theoretical propositions then realized artifacts. reveal broad diversity processes through which working contributes our understanding systems by providing empirical support for existing constructs frameworks, identifying some new approaches translating concepts designs, suggesting ways action artifact-oriented can more effectively contribute cumulative progressive science design.
