摘要: The height of the foot plates (stretchers) in rowing have been shown, both theoretically and experimentally, to significantly influence effectiveness stroke. However, extent which increasing this can improve performance, through musculo-skeletal adaptations, is not yet known. aims present investigation were determine a three week familiarisation period on performance at raised stretcher height. Nine male rowers performed 3.5 minute maximal intensity ergometer trial before after familiarisation. Mean power per stroke increases during first, middle last ten strokes trial, post-familiarisation. This increase mean was due handle force velocity. results study suggested that adaptation new position had occurred with familiarisation, leading improved performance. Determination an ideal for maximum mechanical possible here, as would be specific each individual rower, must take into consideration balance boat extra energy required maintain increased. importance determining now clearly understood.
