摘要: Experiments in rats have shown that after rapid intravenous injection of a single dose thiopental, the brain equilibrates immediately with very high plasma level, which then falls rapidly as drug distributes into total body water and tissue binding sites, including fat. Consequently, thiopental from an anesthetic to nonanesthetic concentration level its initial plateau within few minutes. Pentobarbital equilibration on other hand, is delayed for rises while falling, no pentobarbital can produce falling level. These findings are sufficient explain why ultra-short-acting not. The lipid solubility (in contrast pentobarbital) may well be responsible brain, thus ultrashort duration action.
