摘要: An investigation of the properties metallic hydrogen is particular interest, on account simple structure a metal composed protons and electrons. A calculation energy change forming body centred lattice from atoms has recently been made by Wigner Huntingdon (1935). They find that formation would be 10 kcal., deuterium 11·6 but (Graham’s hydrogenium) only stable relatively to covalent at pressures not less than 2·5 × 105 atmospheres. Experiments these have yet realized. It however possible study in number alloys. At high temperatures, dissolves an appreciable extent metals (Sieverts Gotta 1928), low temperatures examples where appreciably without links (as GeH4) or negative ions LiH) are “metallic” hydrides transitional elements such as palladium, tantalum, titanium, etc. The exceptional position temperature alloys referred again below. evidence state reviewed (Ubbelohde 1931) may summarized statements atoms, least portion ionized give electrons protons.
