摘要: Abstract Estrogens may be implicated in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Most their effects are mediated via receptors whose function and expression modified by DNA polymorphisms. Here estrogen receptor 1 gene ( ESR1 ) polymorphisms Xba I Pvu II were analyzed 214 AD patients 290 controls. In logistic regression analysis, a significantly increased risk familial due to interaction between xx genotype apolipoprotein E e4 allele was observed women Swedish clinic-based sample, taking subjects who had neither nor as reference (OR 11.3, 95% CI 2.9–43.8). The more pronounced early-onset 22.0, 3.7–132.7) than late-onset 6.0, 1.2–29.7) female patients. For carrying pp together with similarly elevated. Likewise community-based set women, an either or e4. Furthermore, Pp frequency found Finnish sporadic AD. We, thus, conclude that have role females.
