The effect of chemical modification of DNA base on binding of HgII and AgI in metal-mediated base pairs

摘要: Abstract The Gibbs free energy of formation metallo-base pair was calculated for the base pairs composed T, U, F, CN, C and I nucleosides Hg II Ag metals. effect particular metal pH on relative stabilization were studied with energies. stability Hg-mediated gradually decreased owing to F CN chemical modification thymine at carbon C5 imino imidazole change N3 nitrogen atom linked . prevalence -stabilization versus where nucleophilicity decreased. stabilizations agreed qualitatively increase in melting temperatures measured previously respective duplexes upon adding metals (Okamoto et al., 2009). absolute magnitude 1 J (Hg,N) 2 (N,N) coupling constants across metal-mediated linkage increased T further magnitudes -couplings metal-bound nitrogen.
