Socio-cultural and service delivery dimensions of maternal mortality in rural central India: a qualitative exploration using a human rights lens

摘要: Background : Despite the avoidable nature of maternal mortality, unacceptably high numbers deaths occur in developing countries. Considering its preventability, mortality is being increasingly recognised as a human rights issue. Integration perspective health programmes could contribute positively eliminating avertable deaths. This study was conducted to explore socio-cultural and service delivery–related dimensions rural central India using lens. Design Social autopsies were for 22 during 2011 Khargone district India. Based on findings our study, we conclude prevent deaths, further concentrated efforts required better community education, empowerment, systems strengthening provide timely services, including care, good quality.
