摘要: Berberine is one of the main alkaloids found in Chinese herb Huang lian (Rhizoma Coptidis), which has been reported to have multiple pharmacological activities. This study aimed analyze molecular targets berberine based on literature data followed by a pathway analysis using PANTHER program. showed that most classes functions include receptor binding, kinase activity, protein transcription DNA and regulator activity. Based biological process classification vitro targets, those related signal transduction, intracellular signalling cascade, cell surface receptor-linked motion, cycle control, immunity system process, metabolic are frequently involved. In addition, was interact with mixture pathways, such as Alzheimer's disease-presenilin -secretase angiogenesis, apoptosis pathway, FAS Hungtington disease, inflammation mediated chemokine cytokine interleukin p53 pathways. We also explored possible mechanism action for anti-diabetic effect berberine. Further studies warranted elucidate mechanisms systems biology approach.
