摘要: Abstract Application of retrograde left cardioangiography to 700 patients, both adults and children, with acquired valvular diseases is described. The technic employed for the test Pressures from aorta ventricle are obtained during same procedure as angiography determine whether stenosis aortic valve present. method may be used estimate degree or mitral insufficiency both. Mitral identified by a fixed filling defect ventricular cavity. value this information in surgical management many forms cardiac disease emphasized. Complications have occurred infrequently and, most instances, patients responded appropriate therapy. Three deaths occurred. These were caused fibrillation 1 patient tamponade 2. common complication was thrombosis femoral artery at site arteriotomy. This about 4 per cent cases; but none did gangrene occur, pulsatile flow restored all cases immediate re-exploration soon diagnosis made.
