摘要: Most cancer morbidity and mortality derives from the dissemination of tumor cells subsequent growth in ectopic locations. Local invasion adjacent normal tissue adnexia compromise homeostatic functions prevent surgical or radiological extirpation tumor. Recent investigations highlight central role that induced motility plays promoting this spread. Metastatic seeding growth, dramatically increase burden relegate local therapies, require additional complex acquired behaviors including resistance to anoikis shear stresses. Still, cell associated biophysical processes such as adhesion modulation, are terminal progression. Our growing understanding function motility, key molecular switches govern behavior, provide new targets for rationale therapeutics aimed at arresting tumors their tracks.
