摘要: There is a tendency among the public to assume that technology will somehow solve world population problem through farming sea and tropics irrigating deserts generating cheap nuclear power in abundance. The facts are seas far future tropical soils not suitable for intensive areas which requiring immense amounts of fertilizer keep production high running out water require it be many years before abundant. Desalinization techniques exist could make desert irrigation possible but every day samll desalinization plant produces enough salt cover 15 acres land foot deep. Getting rid this also major problem. Before can possibly catch up with demand active efforts must made decrease mushrooming growth population.
