摘要: To examine whether miscellaneous cereal grains have an antithrombotic effect, we investigated the anticoagulant activity of 80% ethanol extracts from eleven selected grains. The extract hwanggeumchal sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) showed highest activity, followed by that green foxtail millet grains, in terms thrombin time (TT). When was sequentially fractionated with n-hexane, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, and n-butanol, majority TT-inhibitory detected hexane chloride fractions. Whereas aspirin (final conc. 480 μg/ml) prolonged TT 2-fold, extract, fraction, fraction same dose 2.2-fold, 2.9-fold, 2.5-fold, respectively. could delay activated partial thromboplastin (APTT) as well prothrombin (PT). Although APTT-inhibitory mainly partitioned into fractions, PT-inhibitory solely fraction. APTT- activities these organic solvent fractions were more potent than those control warfarin 3.13 mg/ml). heat-stable acid-stable. appeared to possess a direct fibrinolytic toward fibrin clotting. These results show can exert effects and, thus, potential be applicable dietary sources.
