摘要: Abstract Hydroxytyrosol (HT) and oleuropein derivatives are the main phenolic compounds in virgin olive oil (VOO). After VOO intake, HT is extensively metabolized being hydroxytyrosol-sulphate (HT-S) hydroxytyrosol-acetate sulphate (HT-AC-S) circulating metabolites detected human plasma. The brain uptake accumulation of its were observed after 21 days rat diet supplementation (5 mg/kg rat/day) native form or through derivatives. To establish their neuroprotective potential HT-S HT-AC-S chemically synthetized protective effects against oxidative stress at physiological concentrations (10 μM) neuroblastoma (SH-SY5Y) dopaminergic (LUHMES) neuronal cells observed. sulpho-conjugated structures showed a lower effect than HT. Results HT-S, suggesting activity by reduction level.
