摘要: We analyze the extremely complex problem of fruit fly management in Mexico suggesting establishment a long term, well planned and flexible country-wide orchard program based among others on following premises: consideration entire species instead common practice singling out Anastrepha ludens as unique source problem; multistrategy approach which measures to control flies are integrated with other pest disease efforts all agronomic practices used orchard; redirection putting most emphasis planting maintenance phase opposed harvest marketing phases; development novel approaches implementation established strategies ecologically sound principles that within cultural economic reach recipient (more than 70% produced country comes from small scale, resource poor farmers); biogeographical division growing regions, application adapted each particular situation; thorough understanding socio-economic, socio-political, historical milieu farmer; enhancement alternative means commercialization through creation agroindustries strong grower associations.
