摘要: Intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection of carbachol into the third ventricle conscious rabbits increased pupil size and intraocular pressure (IOP). A significant increase by 0.6-1.3 mm for 60-90 min was observed with dose 1 microgram an IOP 1.1-1.9 mmHg 15-60 doses over 10 ng. These responses were due to central cholinergic stimulation; mydriasis eliminated ICV atropine elevation significantly reduced injections hexamethonium. Transection cervical sympathetic trunk mydriasis. The efferent pathway is via nerve. but not in decentralized eye. Plasma epinephrine (Epi) norepinephrine (NE) at 30 after carbachol. It hypothesized that mainly stimulation ocular nerves circulating catecholamines. Topical treatment 0.01% timolol elevation, indicating involvement beta-adrenergic mechanism IOP.
