摘要: Bones and joints are important sites of bacterial infection in infancy childhood, with clinical presentations that variable sometimes non-specific. Major entities seen children include classical hematogenous long-bone osteomyelitis, septic arthritis (both acute chronic), discitis, osteochondritis complicating puncture wounds to the foot. Early diagnosis therapy musculoskeletal infections critical prevention sequelae. In children, these impaired growth resulting lifelong deformity. On other hand, show a high potential for healing remodelling, often have less comorbidity than adults, tend tolerate oral better. While stakes high, therefore, outcome childhood bone is generally good, provided appropriate antibiotic surgical treatment offered timely manner.
