摘要: OBJECTIVES To determine the prevalence, clinical manifestations, and laboratory features of Neuro-Behcet's disease. METHODS This prospective study was carried out in Behcet's Research Clinic Shiraz (south-west Iran) included patients referred from 1990-1999. The patients' records, images, CSF analyses, electrodiagnostic studies were reviewed. RESULTS Eighteen (15 males 3 females) 690 Behcet s (2.6%, 95% CI = 1.4-3.8%) found to have neurological involvement. mean +/- standard deviation age these 34.7 8.6 years. All fulfilled criteria International Study Group Disease. Central nervous system involvement more common than peripheral manifestations. Headache, weakness, tingling, numbness most symptoms. Hyperreflexia, upward plantar reflex, somatosensory findings frequent signs. Hemispheral brainstem stroke-like syndromes cerebral venous thrombosis major neurologic presentations. There also cases myelitic, pure meningoencephalitic, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-like, multiple Guillain Barre syndromes. CONCLUSIONS Neuro-Behcet's disease must be considered differential diagnosis stroke young adults, chronic meningitis, intracranial hypertension, sclerosis, myelopathies, neuropathies.
