Magnetic resonance imaging findings and outcome of neuro‐Behçet's disease: the predictive factors

摘要: Aim To investigate MRI findings that may predict unfavorable outcomes in the patients with neuro-Behcet's disease. Subjects and Methods All consecutive referred from 2002 to 2009 Behcet Clinic at Nemazee Hospital, Shiraz, Iran, who fulfilled International Study Group criteria for Behcet's disease diagnosed as having disease, were enrolled into this study. Characteristics of initial brain studied different courses disease. Results Initial MRIs 58 (31 women) a mean ± SD age 38.9 ± 9.7 years reviewed. Forty-nine (84%) had parenchymal nine (16%) non-parenchymal disease. Of those 15 (31%) monophasic, 13 (27%) polyphasic 10 (20%) progressive courses; 11 (22%) only headache attributed The most common sites involvement periventricular superficial cerebral white matter, midbrain pons, respectively. involvement, 12 (24%) extension lesions, seven (14%) contrast enhancement, black holes five (10%) brainstem atrophy. Patients course significantly (P = 0.017; OR = 18, 95% CI: 1.7–19.1) higher rate atrophy than non-progressive (monophasic or polyphasic). Conclusion Presence
