摘要: The use of insects in animal feed is a potential avenue to improve the sustainability diets and meet growing global demand for livestock products. Yet, little known about attitudes towards willingness-to-accept insect-based foods. This study presents findings from cross-sectional data collected January 2015 sample 415 farmers, agriculture sector stakeholders citizens Flanders, Belgium. Attitudes idea using were generally favourable, most notably fish poultry feed. Two thirds participants willing-to-accept foods obtained animals fed on widely accepted. Farmers more critical – but still positive as compared citizens. Insect-based was perceived be sustainable, have better nutritive value, lower microbiological safety conventional In addition, resulting nutritious healthy, at risk presence off-flavours allergens. Perceived benefits pertained mainly lowering dependency protein imports, valorisation organic waste. Benefit perceptions stronger outweighed determinant accepting However, strongest acceptance person's own willingness-to-eat Overall, this indicate atmosphere momentum change adoption new ingredient
