摘要: Many diseases caused by inflammatory processes can progress to a chronic state causing deterioration in the quality of life and poor prognosis for long-term survival. To address effectively, early detection novel therapeutics are required. However, this be challenging, part because lack predictive biomarkers limited availability adequate technologies capable identification/characterization key present biological materials, especially those found at picomolar concentrations below. This review highlights need state-of-the art methodologies, with high-sensitivity high-throughput capabilities, determination multiple biomarkers. Although many new have been discovered recently, existing technology has failed successfully bring advancement patient's bedside. We an overview various advances available today extend discovery diseases; particular, we immunoaffinity capillary electrophoresis (IACE), which combines use antibodies as highly selective capture agents high resolving power electrophoresis. two-dimensional hybrid permits quantification characterization several protein simultaneously, including subtle structural changes such variants, isoforms, peptide fragments, post-translational modifications. Furthermore, results rapid, sensitive, performed relatively low cost, without introduction false positive or negative data. The IACE instrumentation relevance medical, pharmaceutical, environmental, military, cultural heritage (authenticity work), forensic science, industrial research fields, particular point-of-care biomarker analyzer translational medicine.
