摘要: Lipoproteins consist of lipids and apolipoproteins that have functional roles in lipid metabolism. It has been suggested oxidation lipoproteins by reactive oxygen species (ROS) may be involved the inception various diseases. In particular, relationship between low-density lipoprotein (LDL) atherosclerosis studied great detail. The main target molecules are polyunsaturated fatty acid residues apolipoproteins. Extensive investigations characterized oxidative modifications apolipoprotein B100 (apo B100) LDL. Furthermore, apo oxidized confirmed LDL atherosclerotic lesions using immunological techniques. this chapter, characteristics mechanisms ROS described from vitro vivo studies. Oxidative hydroperoxides, major products peroxidation at early stage, principally reported.
