摘要: Background Cough variant asthma is a phenotype of solely presenting with coughing. It involves airway inflammation and remodelling as does classic wheezing, subset patients may progress to asthma. The atopic features cough remain unclear. Objective To compare between those asthma, examine the possible correlation these future development wheezing in former group. Methods Total specific IgE levels seven common aeroallergens [house dust mite (HDM), Gramineae/Japanese cedar/weed pollens, moulds, cat/dog dander] were examined 74 115 varying severity. Forty prospectively observed for 2 years determine whether progressed despite inhaled corticosteroid treatment. Results Patients had higher total (P<0.0001), larger numbers sensitized allergens (P= 0.03), rates sensitization dog dander (24% vs. 3%, P<0.0001), HDM (46% 28%, P= 0.02), moulds (17% 7%, 0.047) than did Wheezing developed six (15%) who 0.02) 0.01) 34 whom not develop. Among variables similar subgroup mild disease (n = 60) moderate-to-severe 55), reported previously. Conclusions Atopy be related prevent progression avoidance relevant essential.
