摘要: OBJECTIVE What are the determining factors for good research in medical informatics or, from a broader perspective, biomedical and health informatics? METHOD From many lessons learned during my professional career, I tried to identify fair sampling of such factors. On occasion giving IMIA Award Excellence lecture MedInfo 2013, they were presented discussion. RESULTS Sixteen (df) have been identified: early identification promotion (df1), appropriate education (df2), stimulating persons environments (df3), sufficient time backtracking opportunities (df4), breadth competencies (df5), considering necessary preconditions (df6), easy access high-quality knowledge (df7), scientific career (df8), conditions sustainable (df9), ability communicate solve problems (df10), as well convey results (df11) highly inter- multidisciplinary environment, think all and, when needed, taking lead (df12), always staying unbiased (df13), keeping doubt (df14), but also trying provide solutions (df15), finally, being aware that life is more (df16). CONCLUSIONS Medical Informatics an discipline "avant la lettre". Compared monodisciplinary research, does not only significant solving major science society. It faces considerable additional challenges field. The factors, here, opinion crucial conducting successful developing career. Since field has today become important driving force progress, especially biomedicine care, fields like computer science, it may be helpful consider relation with our discipline.
