摘要: Incoherent scatter observations of E and F region drifts over Millstone Hill (Λ=56°) were made routinely from May 1976 to November 1977 at monthly intervals. Some 667 hours data gathered this 19-month period has been analyzed yield the polarization electric field in magnetic south east directions. In an effort determine what part observed fields can be attributed penetration auroral convection latitude Millstone, these have used construct analytical model two components having a time day Kp dependence (Wand, issue). To guide interpretation, mean also constructed for Λ=60°, 65°, 70° 75°, using between 1978 December separate series experiments (Evans et al., 1979, 1980). The results suggest that, under quiet conditions, there is no significant magnetospheric any except possibly southward component night. During magnetically disturbed periods incremental exhibit all gross characteristics associated with seen higher latitudes. indicate eastward rotation pattern about 4 local going or moderate conditions (Kp ∼ 2+) Λ=65° (Kp=5) Λ=56°.
