摘要: This special issue addresses the question of how to understand civic turn within immigrant integration in West towards programs and instruments, public discourses political intentions, which aim condition, incentivize, shape through socialization immigrants into ‘citizens’. Empirically, it focuses on less studied Scandinavian cases Sweden, Norway, Denmark. In this introduction, we situate contributions overall debate convergence. We introduce three cases, critically discuss (liberal) convergence thesis its descriptive explanatory claims, explain why studying welfare states can further our understanding nature driving forces. Before concluding, whether policies actually work.
