摘要: Studies on chemotaxis of Escherichia coli have shown that modulation tumble frequency causes a net drift up the gradient attractants. Recently, it has been demonstrated bacteria is also capable varying its runs speed in uniform concentration attractant. In this study, we investigate role swimming chemotactic migration bacteria. To end, cells are exposed to gradients non-metabolizable analogue glucose which sensed via Trg sensor. When gradient, modulate their duration, accompanied with variation leading velocities much higher than those achieved through duration alone. We use an existing intra-cellular model developed for Tar receptor and incorporate along predict close measured values. The main implication our study E. not only modulates frequency, but may vary affect thereby efficiently sample nutritionally rich environment.
